The State Of Mesa has recently launched it's official Drug and Weapons task force which has not been activated since 2010. The purpose of us activating the task force is to control the gang and weapons violence that has destroyed lives of Mesians across the State. We are authorizing the Mesa Highway Patrol, local and county law enforcement to conduct stops, stop and searches and other preventative measures relating to possible drug and weapons trafficking events. We are also engaging gang members and will begin arresting and charging individuals who are caught with illegal narcotics as high level offenders.
The purpose of the task force is to:
Significantly reduce the amount of narcotics, weapons and gang activity in the entirety of the State of Mesa.
Prevent serious bodily injury of innocent civilians due to gang violence that has ravaged the State.
Increase patrols near neighborhoods, businesses and places of worship, in response to the shooting at Alden Christian Church Of Jesus Christ on July 7, 2022.
Protect State, County and Local assets as well as the people and residents of our great State.
