UPDATE - Doctors at the Nox City Trauma Center say they want to begin to give Matt low pressure, but constant air to him, to help ease the pressure in his skull caused by the swelling of his brain. Doctors had already given him fluids to help with the high pressure caused again, by the swelling. They gave him vaso-restrictor medications to ensure that some relief is given to his brain so that long term damage doesn't occur.
During a statement, when I talked to his doctors say that he is slowly stabilizing, but has a long way to go. They say he is still in a phase where any trauma could be fatal. They say they are keeping him in a coma, until they see "significant reduction in pressure and swelling deminishes below the fatality point." They will keep us updated on his health, but plans to temporarily transfer power to Lt. Governor Josh Adamson is still planned for October 21, 2022.
OCTOBER 19, 2022 - On October 19, 2022, we were notified that my son Matt Paul(currently 19 years old) may not survive the car accident which seriously injured 3 other drivers when a drunk driver crashed into Matt's car causing him to veer into oncoming traffic. He was rushed to Nox City Trauma Center where he was placed into a medically induced coma, to aid in stopping the swelling of his brain, which occurred due to the impact his head made with the dashboard of his 2022 Fazer SRT 75.
Since October 16, 2022, he remains in critical condition and today, October 19, 2022, we learned that he may not survive. Our family remains hopeful that he is able to pull through his current condition and we fear the worst(his death). In order to spend time with Matt and to work through his condition, I will be stepping back, temporarily from my duties as Governor to focus on his healing. Effective October 21, 2022, I will transfer power to Lt. Governor Joshua Adamson, temporarily, so that we can focus on Matt's health. During this time, I will be canceling any meetings, visits, and other obligations until I return from my leave of absence.
Thank you for your continued support during this trying time, and I thank Alden University for its gracious support for my son, and their teammate. As of the writing of this article, I will serve as Governor until temporarily handing the reigns to Lt. Governor Joshua Adamson on October 21, 2022.
Thank You,
Kirk Paul
