Governor Kirk Paul addressing his Resignation on April 28, 2023.
On May 9, 2023, Governor Kirk Paul will leave office as Mesa's 19th Governor, and as tradition, before leaving office, he will give a farewell address, before departing the Governor's mansion for the last time. However, there is more that he plans to do before leaving office including signing several bills that will increase funding for schools, hospitals and jails, and prisons. He will also sign several dozen executive orders related to administrative items as well as direct the Mesa Highway Patrol to start implementing greener vehicles into their fleets.
But the actual farewell address will begin at 10:00 PM, and Gov. Paul will address the state one last time as its executive. He will also pass on the reigns of the State to his Lt. Governor Joshua Adamson. Adamson will become Mesa's 20th Governor and will serve out Paul's remaining more than a year and a half in office.
