Governor Paul recently signed Executive Order 0190524, which is titled: Issuing The State Department Of Education To Close Schools, Colleges, And Universities Statewide In Response To The Heavy Snow And Unsafe Road Conditions.
As per executive order 0190524, and in response to the winter snow that is coming, all Mesa schools will be closed until further notice. Additional resources are being provided to parents so that they are given updates, information and school work for students of any of Mesa's state schools. The Mesa Department of Education has expressed that schools may not be open on Monday, and parents are advised to check their child's school website or the State Education Department website.
The State Education Department will continue to update schools and the general public about updates to the school closures and parents and schools are being asked to continue to check this website for updated information.

ALDEN - Governor Kirk Paul has given the official green light for Mesa's Schools to reopen in the fall. He also gave the approval for in person graduations to take place and plans have already resumed.
"It's important that friends say goodbye to friends and classmates say bye to classmates." said Gov. Paul. "They should get to graduate 'together'. They shouldn't be separated by a screen. I'm very proud of our state's graduating class, and they've earned this."
The State will continue updating schools as to what will happen in the fall and the policies that they should follow.
Governor Paul considers reopening schools, to weigh time to take to reopen before June.
ALDEN - Governor Kirk Paul, Is Expected To Consider Reopening Schools Next Month, But Many Say He Is Unlikely To.
According to Governor Paul's Press Office, Governor Paul is unlikely to reopen schools due to the lack of time left for school district's to safely reopen.
"I am committed to reopening schools, but I don't think that with three months left of school, we will be able to reopen all schools by the time June rolls around." said Governor Cooke. "We want to reopen schools so that students can receive in person instruction."
The Governor will speak to the State in an Address to the State.
